Adapting to the Tropics: Hanlin Amusement Shines at IAAPA Expo Asia 2024 in Thailand

The Heartbeat of Southeast Asian Entertainment

From May 28-30, 2024, the global attractions industry gathered in vibrant Bangkok, Thailand, for the IAAPA Expo Asia 2024. The Hanlin Amusement team was thrilled to set up our booth in this dynamic hub, a region that is rapidly expanding its family entertainment and tourism offerings.

Southeast Asia is a unique market. With its booming tourism industry, there is a massive demand for high-quality play structures. However, the tropical climate presents specific challenges that require expert manufacturing solutions.

A Story of Climate and Customization

On the second day of the expo, we had a very productive sit-down with a resort developer from southern Thailand. He was planning to add a massive indoor play center to his property to give families an entertainment option during the intense midday heat and the unpredictable monsoon season.

His main concern wasn’t just the design; it was longevity. “In our humid coastal environment, things rust and degrade very quickly,” he explained.

Detailed discussions: Working through material specifications and anti-rust solutions with a client.

This is where our manufacturing expertise made the difference. Instead of just showing him pretty 3D renderings, our sales manager walked him through our specific material treatments. We detailed our double-galvanized steel pipe process, our moisture-resistant PVC wrapping, and how our structural designs allow for better air circulation to prevent mold in high-humidity indoor environments.

Seeing him take detailed notes on his clipboard and nodding in agreement was a great moment. It proved that in the B2B world, real partnerships are formed when you solve real operational headaches.

Connecting with Global Professionals

While the expo was in Thailand, the audience was truly international. We met with expats running family entertainment centers (FECs) in Vietnam, investors from Malaysia, and park operators from Australia.

Bridging markets: Our team discussing customized unpowered equipment with an international operator.

Whether they were looking for a standard trampoline park upgrade or a highly customized, narrative-driven indoor playground, our message remained the same: Hanlin Amusement provides end-to-end support, from the first sketch to the final safety inspection.

Exploring Industry Innovations

Exploring the floor: Staying updated with the latest trends and vibrant color palettes in the attraction industry.

Beyond our own booth, walking the exhibition floor is always a source of inspiration. Seeing the vibrant colors, new interactive elements, and imaginative shapes reminds us why we love this industry. We are constantly absorbing these global trends to bring fresh, innovative ideas back to our 5,000+ square meter factory in Zhengzhou.

Looking Ahead

We left Bangkok deeply energized. The connections made at IAAPA Expo Asia 2024 have already started evolving into exciting new projects. To all the developers, operators, and industry friends who stopped by our booth: Thank you for your trust. Let’s build joyful and durable play spaces together!
